Sub-routes
An important part of the bicycle highway F35 has been completed. This mainly concerns the routes between villages and towns, which are used a lot daily. Such as the routes Borne – Hengelo – Enschede, Almelo – Vriezenveen, and Almelo – Wierden. Both parts of the route in the city center of Hengelo (center – Weideweg) and that of Enschede (center – Twekkelerzoom) have yet to be realized. The routes are fair to good signposted on those sections, so you can cycle along with them. Besides, there will be signposted for the entire route, expected in 2021.
The aim is to complete the entire F35 bicycle highway by 2025. At the moment, the routes between villages and cities over longer distances are in preparation. These are:
- Nijverdal – Wierden
- Almelo – Borne
- Oldenzaal – Lonneker – Enschede
- Enschede – Germany (Gronau)
In the regional bicycle network of the province, the ambition is to extend the F35 between Nijverdal and Zwolle. Plans are also in preparation between Enschede Gronau and Munster. However, the F35 in Twente has and will have its own high-quality version.
