The bicycle highway F35 connects.
The bicycle motorway F35 connects literally and figuratively. Neighborhoods, shopping centers, villages, and cities are connected by the fast bicycle connection. Hundreds of companies can also be reached quickly via the F35. We work together with companies, cities, villages, and local residents in the construction and promotion of the use of the bicycle highway. That also connects.
Current work
The entire route has not yet been completed. The priority parts (where people cycle the most) are almost all constructed. Temporary signs are placed to connect the route. This way you can easily cycle from one place to another without having to search.
Recently, the part along the Enschedestraat between the Spoorstraat and the A1 was opened in Oldenzaal. This part has a wide cycle path and a roundabout with Schelmaatstraat.
In the village of Lonneker, a design and participation process (four preferred variants) is underway for local integration of the Rode Loper F35. This part connects to the F35 towards Oldenzaal and Enschede. The decision on the preferred variant is scheduled for mid-2021.

Together with ProRail, the municipality of Enschede is preparing an important link between Enschede-west (Kennispark via Twekkelerzoom) to the city center and Central Station. The route will have a bridge over the Singel, creating an attractive and non-stop route.
Residential areas and villages
The F35 bicycle highway runs not only between cities and villages but also through residential areas. Delegates and immediate neighbors have a say in the construction of the F35. Many sub-routes have already been created within the built-up area. For the routes that still have to be constructed, we also discuss as much as possible with (representatives of) immediate neighbors.
Companies
Businesses located a short distance from the F35 benefit greatly from the bicycle highway. Employees can get to work quickly, healthily, and sustainably, and companies can stimulate that too. Twente Mobiel provides companies with advice and support in the realization of campaigns and projects. Reducing CO2 and fewer cars during rush hour is our common goal. In promotional campaigns and projects, we often work together with companies and Twente Mobiel to encourage the use of bicycles.
Planning
The aim is to have the entire F35 completed by 2025. This is on the condition that the financing is secured. At the moment there is still a considerable shortage of the required budget. Planning also depends on design, participation, and planning procedures.
Where can I already ride my bike?
A 25-kilometer cycle highway section has already been completed and large sections will be constructed in the next five years. Furthermore, the planning is to place bicycle signage for the temporary and eventual route in 2021; this signage complies with the latest CROW guidelines.
