With the F35 you will be there in no time.

In short
The F35 is a fast, safe, and non-stop bicycle connection of 62 kilometers, which runs from Nijverdal to the German border with side branches from Almelo to Vriezenveen and from Enschede to Oldenzaal. This bicycle highway runs roughly parallel to the A35 highway. The width of 4 meters, few intersections, and the good quality asphalt make the F35 a high-quality, fast, and unique bicycle path for the Netherlands.
Current work
The entire route has not yet been completed. The priority parts (where people cycle the most) are almost all constructed. Temporary signs are placed to connect the route. This way you can easily cycle from one place to another without having to search.
Recently, the part along the Enschedestraat between the Spoorstraat and the A1 was opened in Oldenzaal. This part has a wide cycle path and a roundabout with Schelmaatstraat.
In the village of Lonneker, a design and participation process (four preferred variants) is underway for local integration of the Rode Loper F35. This part connects to the F35 towards Oldenzaal and Enschede. The decision on the preferred variant is scheduled for mid-2021.

Together with ProRail, the municipality of Enschede is preparing an important link between Enschede-west (Kennispark via Twekkelerzoom) to the city center and Central Station. The route will have a bridge over the Singel, creating an attractive and non-stop route.
Where can I already ride my bike?
The bicycle highway leads you actively and sustainably through the beautiful villages, cities, and nature of Twente; whether you are a recreational or sports enthusiast or use the bicycle highway for commuting. In the cities and villages, the F35 is sometimes designed as a bicycle street. All traffic is allowed to drive here, but the car is a guest. The uniform layout that is applied along the entire route makes the F35 recognizable for all its users.

Planning
The aim is to have the entire F35 completed by 2025. This is on the condition that the financing is secured. At the moment there is still a considerable shortage of the required budget. Planning also depends on design, participation, and planning procedures.

Innovations & sustainability
Innovations and sustainability are of paramount importance in the construction of the F35. The bicycle highway is one of the first inter-municipal bicycle highways in the Netherlands. Numerous sustainable innovations have been implemented, such as high-tech lighting at the Kennispark Enschede station square.
